The Incarnation of God: A Christmas Meditation

leave a comment »

I gave this message at my home church’s Christmas Eve service last year. Remember— though there are many presents waiting for you to receive, this season is truly about the gift that you already have been given. Merry Christmas everyone!

Should We Allow Hearing-Induced Changes in ASL?

with 24 comments

Although I realize that language changes, I find myself being uncertain about allowing hearing-induced changes in ASL to circulate around. I use “#16-19″ in ASL as an example. I’d love to hear your opinions on whether we should welcome hearing-induced changes or not. I also briefly discuss the role of mainstream interpreters.

Another sermon based on the Gospel of John, which I gave at my home church last December. It expounds the meaning of “the living water” and how it has been poured out.

Sermon: The First Signs

with one comment

Last semester I took a class on the gospel of John from one of my most favorite teachers, Dr. Burge. I will never forget that class. It opened my eyes to see inside of what is known as the beloved gospel. I encourage you to read his commentary on the gospel. Last October I gave a sermon at my home church on John 2 after my class discussed this chapter.

My Daily Prayer

with one comment

O Adonai, My God,

My body, soul, mind, and heart are yours.
Fasten my eyes to seek
Only what is righteous in your eyes.
Grant me the strength to flee
From anything that would defile my body,
A temple to your Spirit.
Guard my soul as I wander
Among lost souls proclaiming your love.
Cleanse my mind and instruct me
How to walk on the path of righteousness.
Sanctify my heart through your everlasting mercy
And remind me of your way
Which is forgiving and caring.
May everything I say, do, and think glorify you.

Amen.
